A warm welcome after a night on the ferry: mango litchi yogurt, square pieces of soft perforated bread, and cheese all the more delicious coming from that handy slicer.
Lots of blue sky and blue sea around this city built on islands.
Scandinavian interior design at the Nordiska Museet.
Junibacken, celebrating children's literature.
The life-size story houses inside were delightful.
Gamla Stan, or Old Town.
The Nobel Museum with very well-presented exhibits and lots of fascinating news clips about and interviews clips with winners.
Beginning of Drottninggatan, the shopping district.
Gooseberries and lingonberries at the marketplace.
Every meal at home with my wonderful hosts Karin & Patrick was delicious. Roast beef, tomato salad, and potato salad with the cute giraffe serving spoon from Thailand. For a taste of the summertime Swedish seashore, I took a day trip out to the Stockholm Archipelago, a collection of 20,000+ islands up to eight hours from the city by boat.
No singles action here. Only families with adorable young children running around giggling and greeting everyone with "Hey hey!".
The water was about 18 degrees. Brrr! Nice rocky isles to clamber around, though.
Swedish sheep grazing. One had escaped from the fenced area. Its lovely, generous, woolly rump bounced in the most endearing fashion as it ran down the road.
Butterflies and ladybug-like insects.
A perfect, cloudless day.
