Day Trip to Tallinn

Fort guarding the entrance to Old Town.

I imagined armed pursuers chasing their victims up and down these dark, steep, mostly spiral steps in medieval times on my long, tiring walk up St. Olaf's tower.

Old Town as viewed from the top of the tower.

Looking north at the Baltic sea.

Hilly cobblestone streets.

Shades of pink galore. The parliament building nearby boasted the same color scheme.

Old stone building exuding charm.

I spent a few hours on a park bench writing postcards and napping. This was the view.

My almost neon-colored dinner on the ferry back to Helsinki: tuna lasagna and strawberry pie. Looks appetizing, doesn't it? Well, it wasn't cheap.

  1. i'm a little skeptical about that "strawberry pie." so that's what they're calling it these days...
