Magenta sun on the horizon.

Dubrovnik at dusk.

After much walking up and down and around the town in the dark, and running into at least one shady character, I was relieved to find this guesthouse with an expectation-exceeding room.

The only fancy meal I had in Croatia began with a scoop of tuna.

The stewed beef was oily and unflavorful, just like everyone had said about Croatian cuisine.

But flan! Rejoice in dessert. And what nice place settings.

The whole town was completely overrun with tourists. Every native seemed to be a cog in the tourism industry. Not too charming for a backpacker, but that doesn't take away from the resplendent seaside fortress town views.

My time in Dubrovnik was very brief, really just a stopover on the way to Norway. Hopefully next time I'll be able to soak up more of the Adriatic atmosphere and actually go snorkeling and diving!
